MANU! How on earth do I know how many calories I should be eating?
That’s a good question, Sonny Jim..
Working out your daily calories doesn’t need to be super tedious. Follow these steps - This is exactly how I do it.
Visit www.tdeecalculator.net
Straight on the first page your you’ll be prompted to enter your details. There is an optional section for body fat percentage. If you don’t know it, that’s fine.
Activity level needs to be as accurate as possible. Training is hard work, not walking on the beach.
Press calculate. BAM! there it is. An estimate of your calories you should be consuming to stay exactly the same as you are now. If you’d like to lose a little bit of fat i’d recommend taking between 200-500 calories from this number. Remember, the more you deduct, the less you’re able to eat. I’m sure most of you don’t enjoy being hungry so please don’t be silly with this. Too large of a deficit can be a health risk, not to mention the loss of lean muscle mass.
If you scroll done there is a large amount of information you can use to your advantage. Some important ones to look for
A break down of your calories if you were to change your training habits.
An assortment of macro breakdowns. This can be used for those who wish to manipulate their diet style. (low carb, keto ect)
Now there are plenty of ways people choose to calculate their calories, that’s cool. I don’t wish to change your ways. This is the most reliable, responsible way I suggest.
