How would you describe your coaching style in a few words? Empathetic but direct. I think it’s important to make people feel hear, understood and meet them where they’re at. However, I think it’s equally as important to bring people up when they’re not doing the best they could - in fact I think is part of truely coaching with empathy.

What is your training philosophy or core belief when it comes to fitness? I believe the industries and general public’s perception of what fitness looks like is often very limited. Training can and should involve games and learning new skills, and encourage trainees to explore movement through getting creative. It can all be so much more than sets and reps.

What kind of training do you personally enjoy? Honestly, there isn’t one specific type of training I enjoy the most. I use training as a way to refine the training I use for clients; it’s kind of like a kitchen where I test recipes before they’re served up to others. What I’m into tends to change depending on where my clients are at in their own journeys.

Do you have a favourite movement, exercise or training method?Honestly I just love hard training - when I go into train I’ll always choose exercises I know I can really “rip into” on the given day. But, if I had to a favourite, It’d have to be deadlifts.

Have you participated in any events, competitions, or personal fitness achievements? I did a powerlifting comp in 2023, which was heaps of fun! I had year off competing last year, but I’m gearing up for a big couple years of events in 2025/6

What do you love most about coaching at One Life Fitness? The people! (of course). To be more specific though, I think I get a lot of fulfilment out of helping people really enjoy training. Of course, it’s great getting people stronger and healthier. But I think what the fitness industry is most sorely lacking is fun - so getting people really invested and engaged in their training is truely where my passion lies.

If you could train with any athlete (past or present), who would it be and why? That’s a tough question! In their primes, I think it’d have to be either Cristiano Ronaldo or Conor McGregor (Oops two answers). Training alongside people with that much tenacity and drive is just infectious. You progress so much faster training with people like those two.

What’s a fun fact about you that people wouldn’t expect? My current life side quest is getting better at cooking! I’ve been smashing homemade pasta and pizza bases recently, which were definitely a learning curve. I think I’ve thrown out like three or four lots of dough. Next will be learning some homemade Mexican. We’ll see how we go!
