It all started when…

How would you describe your coaching style in a few words?
Diverse, Empathetic & Enjoyable.

I've explored a wide range of fitness styles, training across both ends of the spectrum. But over time, I've learned that great coaching starts with truly listening to what my members want. Understanding their goals, challenges, and motivations is the foundation of how I guide them.

What is your training philosophy or core belief when it comes to fitness?
My job isn’t to treat you like an athlete or turn you into a fitness influencer who eats perfectly curated meals every day. It’s to move you up that scale in a way that fits your reality. I truly believe that many people struggle with fitness because society has built a narrow definition of what "success" looks like. Real success isn’t about fitting into someone else’s mould—it’s about finding a sustainable approach that works for you.

What kind of training do you personally enjoy?
I mix up my training as often as possible, setting mini goals to stay motivated and on track with my health and fitness. I love the idea of being ready for anything—whether it’s lifting heavy, running faster or further, or taking on a new challenge. Keeping my training varied keeps me engaged and ensures I'm always progressing in different ways.

Do you have a favourite movement, exercise, or training method?
Organised chaos would be the word to describe my personal training style. The Barbell Snatch will have to be a favourite.

Have you participated in any events, competitions, or personal fitness achievements?
Many years I competed as a bodybuilder and have competed in several different fitness such as endurance running and Hyrox events. I can’t say I overly enjoy fitness competitions though.

What do you love most about coaching at One Life Fitness?
The members will always be my favourite part. We have such a diverse range of people with such varied levels of goals. My coaching ability swings between entry level movements to competitive athletes on a daily basis and I truly do love it.
If you could train with any athlete (past or present), who would it be and why?

Kobe Bryant, without a doubt. Not because I’m a massive basketball fan—I’m really not—but because there was something different about his mind. His philosophy, his approach to mastery, the way he thought about competition, discipline, and growth—it goes beyond sport. I find myself rewatching his interviews all the time, just trying to absorb the way he saw things. Training with him wouldn’t just be about the physical work; it would be about understanding that relentless pursuit of excellence, the details, the mentality that made him who he was. That’s the part that fascinates me.
