We need to build a wall…. “The greatest wall mexico has ever seen”.
We all have big dreams and goals... It’s impossible to erect a brick wall without laying your first brick. Everybody wants to enjoy the end results without having their foundations in check. On a weekly basis I have people come to me asking for help, focusing on all the minutiae details that have no business even being discussed.
Why? Because their foundations suck.
Nil structure
Negative environment
Lack of movement
Addictions
Terrible eating habits
Irregular sleep patterns
Posture issues
Stress
Laziness
Are all signs that your wall will most likely crumble when you’re put to the test. My challenge to you all is to identify which brick you are going to lay first. What habit or task can you safely say that you can carry out on a regular basis without fail?
Is it training frequency? Great. You can consider that a sturdy brick.
Are your sleep patterns only seldom acceptable? Before you focus on your next brick you need to make sure this one is completely sturdy.
Set yourself a goal for the next ‘x’ weeks. Make this a habit before you move on. Over the course of several months, you’ll slowly get to a point in which you’ve successfully built a strong, solid base. Almost 100% of my client base will have achieved incredible results once their base is set in stone. This then becomes the bare minimum which will already have you way ahead of the pack. This is when we can start to look into the minutiae details. quality of life.
